flowers = spring

it's still pretty cold outside, but after work on friday i bought myself some bright, springy flowers to help usher in springtime weather. spring, i'm rooting for you.

food love: cantaloupe salsa + salsa fresca

i think it was in michoacan, mexico where i was first given cantaloupe salsa... my friends and i all met in the hilly middle-of-nowhere town of patzcuaro one summer and someone actually made it for me. i remember it was so simple and unlikely but tastes so good!

cantaloupe salsa:
half a cantaloupe, diced
a handful of cilantro, chopped
juice from 1 lime
half a small red onion, chopped
salt + pepper to taste

mix together and enjoy! *in this version i actually added a whole mango, so mango is nice variation.

i also made salsa fresca here, which goes like this:
2 tomatoes, diced
half a lemon, juiced
half a small onion, chopped
a handful of cilantro, chopped
salt + pepper to taste

these are super easy to make and so good in nice weather.

find an italian bakery and order it with cherry juice instead of rum.
some had pudding inside, but this one has ricotta. CHOMP.

personal website revamp

my personal website, www.darcydizenzo.com, has been bothering me for so long now... it said i still live in CT (it's been over a year now that i've lived in brooklyn), and it looked really terrible to me, which actually matters because i'm a designer. so tonight i spent the entire night fixing it. i just couldn't take it anymore!

i am so relieved. on that note, let me know if you notice any glitches/errors – this was not done using a wordpress template, i built it myself in dreamweaver! winkyface.
